Founders story

The founder was born in southern state of India – Kerala and moved into ‘Qatar at the age of 4. He developed some passion towards household maintenance and the repair of electrical and electronic equipment. This inspired him to take up an engineering degree. He started his career as a sales professional and began enjoying the networking and convincing skills. The customer acquisition experience planted business seeds in his mind. To strengthen his management skills, he went into do his MBA and his passion to start something got strengthened. He tested his capability as an oracle developer and over a period of 6 months, he realized that it was not something he wanted to do. He went back to a customer facing job as a sales engineer and sold IT Hardware products. He was so focussed on his customer requirements and he felt that his company was unable to meet those. He decided to leave the job. He then got an opportunity to move into a marketing job in a start-up. They were delivering IT Enabled services. He joined them as the first employee of the company. Over a period of 2 years, his management realized that the services being delivered was a niche market and was never a day to day requirement that could contribute to continuous cash flow. This led to salary reduction again as the company was not open to adopting new lines of business.

One of his employers approached him and asked if he was willing to take over the company and turn it around. He moved in as a partner. Being a first generation business person and with no prior experience, liabilities began shooting up. His initial borrowings from friends and family dried up and the business dreams began getting shattered. He felt that the business model of the IT Enabled services was not creating value for both the customers as well as for his organization. He decided to change the business line – Facilities Management, it was a new business but he felt that he can make a sustaining company out of it because he loved the science behind maintenance from his childhood.

He managed to get the first contract from a multinational company by tapping into his contacts. The job was related to his engineering specialization – electrical. He successfully executed the job through freelancers earning good margins. This made him realize the market opportunities and the associated returns.
